The driver card enables the storage of driving and rest times and contains the identity data of the driver.

The driver card is always property of the driver. In the chip of the driver card personal data of the driver are stored. Even if the employer paid the driver card it is not the property of the employer.

The driver card stores 28 days in average the driver activities. After this time range the oldest data of the tachograph will be overwritten. In practice often longer time ranges are stored.

The validity of the driver card is 5 years.

Please read-out and archive the data at least every 28 days.

The company card presents the company and allows the display, download and the print out of data that are stored in the control device.

The company card is needed by owners of firms or companies that use vehicles within the scope of the regulation (EEC) 3820/85.

On the company card no data of the driver activities are stored. Only data of activities like the download of data from the tachograph are stored. Therefore this card is not suited for the analysis in opposition to the driver card.

The company card is valid for 5 years.

The workshop card is used for installation, testing and calibration of digital control devices by suitable qualified responsible experts of approved workshops or by workshops commissioned by approved control device manufacturer.

The workshop card serves for testing and calibration and the download of the data of the control device.

Workshop cards are valid for a year.

The control card enables the unlimited access to the data stored on a mass storage and/or the driver card and shows the regulatory authority.
